...They have been in Botswana now for two years and I am blessed by their hospitality as well as their authenticity. I am excited to get to know them and to learn from them. I will also be working with HIV/AIDS families in association with Princess Marina Hospital where free Anti-retroviral treatment is being disseminated. I am also working in conjunction with the Baylor Children's Clinic for HIV positive babies. My focus will include psychosocial support to vulnerable families and orphaned children, connecting them to available resources, program development, and community awareness and education. It is imperative to effectively implement care to those with HIV/AIDS due to the fact that up to 60% are dying here in Botswana which is the highest prevalence of this disease in all of Africa.
